Kuehne + Nagel provides warehouse management solutions for Johnson & Johnson Medical China

Shanghai, October 9, 2013 - Johnson & Johnson Medical China, a subsidiary of the American multinational producer of medical devices, pharmaceutical and consumer goods Johnson & Johnson, has awarded Kuehne + Nagel a contract for the warehouse management of its medical devices in China.

As part of the agreement Kuehne + Nagel will operate a logistics facility according to best-in-class standards for the handling of medical device and healthcare products. For this purpose the logistics provider has established a dedicated warehouse close to the Pudong International Airport in Shanghai. The location consists of approximately 20,000 sqm handling space, featuring state-of-the-art warehouse management systems and temperature-controlled areas which allow the storage of products at temperatures ranging from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius, 2 to 8 degrees Celsius and from -22 to -18 degrees Celsius. The facility meets all safety, security and humidity control standards.

"The cooperation with Kuehne + Nagel goes beyond the scope of a traditional logistics service provider. We rely on its knowledge and expertise in managing our logistics processes," comments Helen Liu, Senior Director of Johnson & Johnson CLS China.

"We are very pleased to have been selected to provide industry-specific solutions for Johnson & Johnson Medical China," says Jens Drewes, President of Kuehne + Nagel North Asia Pacific. "The agreement underlines Kuehne + Nagel's expertise in developing and offering tailor-made service for the medical device & healthcare sector in China."
