London / UK, December 2013 – Global logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel received credit in two industry sector awards in the retail and e-tail and consumer products categories, for supporting projects with Argos and the Spirit Pub Company respectively.
The awards recognise excellence in organisation and management of a complete supply chain. Kuehne + Nagel’s partnerships with its customers Argos and the Spirit Pub Company demonstrated to judges that close collaboration and effective project management brought significant improvements to both companies’ supply chains.
The Argos project encompassed numerous development initiatives covering the end to end supply chain and delivered tangible improvements to working capital and serviceability. Argos has embarked upon a five year transformation to become a digital retail leader and import development will be essential to this. Kuehne + Nagel was ideally placed for collaboration as the two companies have been in partnership since 1994.
The Spirit Pub Company project required an innovative, flexible supply chain solution for which Kuehne + Nagel was selected. The logistics company provided multi temperature distribution and award winning reverse waste recycling. A seamless contract implementation followed, including the signing of a ten year contract, relocation of an existing depot and opening a new southern distribution centre.
